** RACE IS CANCELED AS OF  9 AM on 9/26 **

Good Morning,

While we woke up excited to see a break in the rain forecast for this afternoon, unfortunately, the winds have continued to pick up.

We are confident that we could safely host the 5K itself, and probably get some pretty epic pictures of you all running in these conditions, but our bigger concern is everyone getting safely to and from the race. 8 counties are currently in a state of emergency, even those that border Somerset.

The safety of our runners, volunteers, emergency services, and the greater Hillsborough community that may need those resources must come first.

With that in mind, we have made the difficult decision to officially cancel today’s race. Because this event takes place on a state highway and requires an extensive level of permitting, approvals, and coordination, we unfortunately cannot simply turn around a rain date within a reasonable timeframe. All registered runners and sponsors will automatically be deferred to our 2027 event.

Thank you for your patience with all of our emails over the past few days. We truly tried to keep this race together despite the impending storm, and we appreciate everyone who hung in there with us as we watched the forecast change. We’re disappointed too. Hopefully, you can take advantage of that break in the rain this afternoon and get in a safe run closer to home. And we’ll see you on the Bypass in 2027  -  when we’ll try this again with considerably less weather drama.
